Rainforest Tranquility

Columbia River Gorge is one of the most beautiful regions I’ve visited. Temperate rainforests and perfect climate for a northener is a match made in heaven.
I enjoy hiking. Especially on moderate temperatures. Punch Bowl Falls is a perfect example of nice half day hike. 6 kilometers in and out along beautiful Eagle Creek.
Even though the waterfall looks small on the picture, it is roughly 11 m tall and 3 m wide. We hit the spot on a typical summer day and place was crawling with people. Luckily only two photographers, me included. I was surprised to see people jumping to the bowl from the left side of the waterfall. That’s over 25 meter fall. Ouch!
